Spinach and smoked salmon quiche
When everyone in the family is craving for a savoury pastry, nice and hot, quiche is the perfect answer! We all love this savoury tart, it can be used for any meal. A simple lunch paired with a salad or for breakfast, or for a snack. The filling depends upon what I have in stock – sometimes simple sauteed onion with thyme, or leeks, or whatever I feel like.
This is how I made it: Spinach and smoked salmon quich Ingredients
- Pre baked tart shell
- Eggs-2
- Egg yolk-2
- Double cream-250ml
- Salt
- Chili powder
- Smoked salmon slices-100g
- Young spinch leaves-200g
I made a custard by whisking the eggs and egg yolks with double cream, I added some salt and a good pinch of chilli powder to give some heat.Mixed well. I spread the smoked salmon slices and blanched spinach leaves into the baked tart shell (I used shortcrust pastry to make the tart shell.) Finally, I poured the savoury custard over it.
Baked in a pre heated oven 160 degree centigrade for 20-30 minutes until set. Removed from the oven and cooled down slightly.
